Footings - The Foundation of a Solid Home

In the realm of home construction, no element holds more significance than the humble footing. Serving as the bedrock of your house, footings play a pivotal role in evenly distributing its weight, preventing the house from sinking into the ground. A skilled professional pouring your footing is not merely a choice, its an investment in the longevity and stability of your home.

The width, size and depth of footings will vary by situations, house size, soil type, and weight of house; known as building load. In Utah, the footing has to be 12” below frost line because of the cold winters.

Process:

  1. It will take about 1-2 days to form the footings.

  2. After the forms are set, the city inspector will inspect the forms.

  3. After its been approved concrete can now be poured. Which typically only takes a day.

  4. The concrete will need 2-3 days to cure before they will start forming the foundation walls.
