Footings - The Foundation of a Solid Home
In the realm of home construction, no element holds more significance than the humble footing. Serving as the bedrock of your house, footings play a pivotal role in evenly distributing its weight, preventing the house from sinking into the ground. A skilled professional pouring your footing is not merely a choice, its an investment in the longevity and stability of your home.
The width, size and depth of footings will vary by situations, house size, soil type, and weight of house; known as building load. In Utah, the footing has to be 12” below frost line because of the cold winters.
Process:
It will take about 1-2 days to form the footings.
After the forms are set, the city inspector will inspect the forms.
After its been approved concrete can now be poured. Which typically only takes a day.
The concrete will need 2-3 days to cure before they will start forming the foundation walls.
